Double Wedding Ring [progress update]
#1
I decided to lay out some of the blocks tonight to see how it was looking. See picture below.
I feel quite blah about it. It seems so "samey-samey". The yellow also stands out in a not so good way. I'm not sure these problems really exist, or if it is just the mood I'm in (tired and in pain).
The quilt is going to be 7 across by 7 down.
What do you think?

Wow, you are a fast worker, your quilt is beautiful, I love it, I like the yellow in your quilt, I think it, along with the purple makes a focal point at each intersection.
I am sure you will know this but others may not, that yellow orange and red are the first colours the eye sees when looking at things, especially yellow, it really pops out at you, perhaps that is why you are not liking it so much. Also you have placed it with purple which is the complimentary (opposite each other on the colour wheel). The yellow and purple together create high visual movement, drawing attention to themselves, these colours really vibrate off one another, that combination will never lie quiet. Personally I love this combo also the red green complimentary, it gives excitement. For less impact you could use a more pastel version in soft yellow and pale lavender for example.
Thanks for sharing, I love this pattrn but as yet it is way out of my quilting skills but ahhhh, one day!

Ab-sew-lutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Nothing is prettier than a double wedding ring quilt... no matter what colors are used. BTW......the yellow MAKES the quilt. It radiates SUNSHINE no matter what the weather is and brings a bit of spring..... into the depth of the winter cold.
